Corsairs Care Poster

Print Design, Layout Design, Branding/Identity

Challenge: Create a poster to aid in the promotion of the launch of the Corsairs Care website. Corsairs Care is a website campaign launched by UMass Dartmouth Student Affairs and the Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality. The website provides useful information about active bystanders, alcohol and other drugs, bias and hate, bullying, harassment, and violence,  depression and suicide, and sexual misconduct.

Solution: To launch the campaign (which my class coined i gotchu), I came up with a poster solution to tie all of the topics under Corsairs Care together. As a class we came up with a list of 133 possible situations that a student may encounter while attending UMass Dartmouth. While the intention of the lengthy list is meant to be overwhelming, the large amount of text might drive the viewer away. To encourage the viewer to stop and read the poster, I decided to add a hidden message within each topic.

Identity: My class coined the campaign i gotchu, a slang way of saying, I have your back. The final mark is a hand drawn text conversation bubble paired with the slab serif typeface, Lexia.
