Hazelwood Park Cyanotype

This panoramic image depicts the historic Hazelwood Park, which is nestled behind West Beach in the South End of New Bedford, Massachusetts. The purpose of the print was to draw attention to the beauty of the park in hopes of funding restoration for the abandoned buildings on the property.

The size of this print provided many challenges. One issue was finding a printer large enough to create a 50 inch long negative on transparency film. I found an architectural blue print firm that was able to print on opaque vellum. After many tests and much trial and error, the final print was created over the course of a 3 hour exposure time.
